Now I feel like I need to clarify I don't submit that much, honestly, so when I do submit it's usually to something I feel like is a pretty good bet. I probably send out less than a dozen stories and poems a year right now. And I think having the magazine probably helps. Hopefully I didn't make you think I'm sending out tons of work, all getting accepted. Because I don't have a lot of time to submit I'm picky.

It’s amazing either way!!! And I love how you focus your efforts- I use the “throw everything against the wall and hope something sticks” method most of the time. (And interview editors 😉)

Hahahahahaha! Editors do love to be interviewed! I'm glad your story made it through slush this last time, all on its own merit, but now I will recognize your name and always wind up reading your story myself. 😂

Sold every story since?!?! Wow. Love this advice to write your own stories. It’s such a contrast from other advice we’ve seen recently in these interviews.

Lol! Now I feel like I was boasting about that. Like I just mentioned to Angelique, I don't get to submit a lot of stories (less than a dozen a year) so when I do submit it's something I think will be almost a sure bet. It was when I started writing my own blend of self into my stories that I started seeing that success... and then I took on a magazine which probably also helps.
